Koptrizon (Ethylhexyl Triazone)is an organic compound used as a sunscreen in cosmetics and personal care products to absorb UVB radiation. It is an outstanding UV B filter with high absorptivity at **4 nm. Hence, only little concentrations are required in cosmetic suncare preparations, to achieve a high Sun Protection Factor value. It has excellent photo stability and compatibility with other UV absorber.          

The polar nature of Ethylhexyl triazone, gives it, good affinity to the keratin in the skin, so that formulations in which it is used are particularly water resistant. It has very low skin penetration activity and preserves the skin’s immune system. Over all, it is a UV B, filter with the highest absorption among all UVB filters available in the market.
